Each Baby is unique and has their own feeding needs. We are here to provide that individualized care to all baby’s for the first year of their life.

Please note that the age suggestions linked to the flow levels are based on the groundbreaking research on lactating mothers’ milk flow averages throughout a baby's first two years of life. Because you and your baby are unique, you could have a faster or slower flow and baby may have a stronger or more delicate suck than that of others in their age range. Please use these guidelines to grow confidence in listening to you and your infant's needs.

You may consider moving up to the next level if you notice any of the following:

  • Prolonged feeding times
  • Initial active sucking followed by frustration
  • slow or stagnating weight gain
  • prolonged suckling cycles with very few swallows

You may consider moving down a level if you notice any of the following:

  • Gulping
  • Coughing/Choking
  • Refusal to eat
  • Increase in gassiness after feeds
  • Fussing/Crying throughout the feed
